A sailing Christmas showroom: OCEANDIVA and Edelman join forces

Amsterdam, 25 November 2020 – In times like these, you need to be creative. Fortunately, creative thinking is in the DNA of both OCEANDIVA and Edelman, which means that from January they will be sailing the German waters with a sailing showroom.  

We take the showroom to the customer

Together with Edelman, one of the largest importers in the area of home accessories, OCEANDIVA is creating a sailing showroom. “Usually, we receive customers from all over the world from the beginning of December up to the end of April to present our new Christmas collection. For the time being, this will not be possible due to the travelling restrictions”, says Ronald van Veen, Managing Director of Edelman. Edelman quickly came up with the idea of taking the showroom to the customer. They noticed that many ships had been moored and they started exploring the options. 

Three-month roadshow

After a short search Edelman came into contact with OCEANDIVA. Mandy Berding, Managing Director of OCEANDIVA, explains: “We are usually fully booked with events months in advance, but Covid-19 completely wiped the planning off the table. Edelman came at the perfect time. We were ready for creative use of our ships and in times like these, a three-month roadshow is absolutely wonderful.” From January Edelman moves in to the OCEANDIVA Original and the sailing showroom thus becomes a fact. 

Safe and unique experience for customers

Both parties are working hard on preparing and setting up the 2,500 m2 of the OCEANDIVA Original with artificial Christmas trees, Christmas lights, and Christmas decorations. From 4 January up to and including 5 March, the showroom will be sailing across Germany. By appointment, the customers can visit the showroom in a safe and unique way and emerge themselves in the Christmas trends for 2021. More than enough reason to ring the ship’s bell and to raise a glass to a pleasant cooperation.
