A summer festival for 2000 guests. Probably not something you might have thought possible at OCEANDIVA. But our slogan ‘push your limits’ isn’t for nothing. In collaboration with event agency Medivents, we not only achieved this, but even exceeded our own expectations!

The event took place on a hot summer day in OCEANDIVA’s home port in Amsterdam North. Both the ship, the ORIGINAL, and the quay were utilised to realise this unique event. Guests came from all over the Netherlands and were picked up by a shuttle boat at Amsterdam central station. Once ashore, they were transported to the tropics. More than 75 cubic meters of sand had been specially deposited on site alongside the ship for the festival. Here, visitors could play beach volleyball, drink cocktails, dance or relax in the Tropical Hangouts hammocks. When the last guests had arrived, the evening was festively opened with a Brazilian brass band and dancers. After which the guests could be welcomed on board.

The inside of the ship itself was designed as a beach club where none other than The Ladies of Soul and DJ Jeroen van Nieuwenhuize provided the evening’s entertainment with swinging music. A silent disco took place on the outdoor terrace where guests could follow a disco-workshop in ‘silence’.

Because the ship remained moored, guests could wander in and out freely and determine which activity they wanted to partake in themselves. A truly unique event that we won’t forget in a hurry!

From concept to implementation is a wonderful creative process that you sometimes have to steer in the right direction and make concessions. So when everything turns out just as you both had envisaged, it’s fantastic! When you see smiling faces and a very satisfied customer, then you know that everybody’s done a great job. Thank you!
